The Last Institution was a satirical fictitious organization staged for the exhibition of Sala d’Art Jove 2011. It took form on social media and various group events. The project intended to do the opposite of what would be expected from a serious public art institution. The events and messages it delivered tended to be humorous, incoherent, absurd and emotional. Among it’s actions it organized a choir, a zine library and an exhibition. It’s main focus of satyr where focused on precarious work conditions among art workers and artist, the lack of transparency of institutions and their hierarchical system of decision making. The project lasted over five month in various forms it continues to have a twitter and Facebook account.
